Globalisation is “a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology ”, and has a numerous both proponents and opponents. In theory it leads to universal economic prosperity and opportunity amongst developing nations.

The UK is a democracy and the cornerstone of any democracy is the electoral system. Britain’s current electoral system is the ‘First-Past-the-Post’ (FPTP) in which a seat in Parliament is awarded to the candidate who gets the most votes within a given constituency. However, despite its long usage, it still bears flaws.
